History

Estabrook School was originally built by the members of the West Lebanon New Hampshire Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1934 , on land that was graciously donated by the family of Elizabeth Reynolds,  to provide Christian education for children of that congregation and to offer faith-based education to families of the local community. The school, now in its 90th year of operation, is supervised by the Department of Education of the Northern New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, located in Westbrook, Maine.

In 2009, New Hampshire became the first state in the United States to adopt the Life Safety Code for schools. Due to that action, Estabrook School was temporarily relocated to a rented classroom space that was kindly offered by the Lebanon City Department of Education, SAU # 88, in the former Sacred Heart School building. Our school program continued there until a new facility in Plainfield, New Hampshire was purchased in 2011.

Estabrook’s new home, a beautiful post-and-beam building filled with natural light, is a perfect place for students to learn and grow. It was at this time that the school’s name was officially changed to Estabrook Christian School. Now situated on 74 acres in a beautiful rural setting,  Estabrook continues to offer distinctive, faith-based education for grades 1-8 and maintains approval as a private school for attendance by the State of New Hampshire, Department of Education.
